No. Youthful and invigorated are the two young girls living across the street....Mrs. CN would definitely disapprove! ;-)

I have twenty dozen egg to sell, hung out at the parking lot of the feed store this morning, not one taker. Came home to tend chickens and eat breakfast. You won't have to guess what I cooked it on!

Mr. Bones Wish you were closer amigo and I would happily hook you up. As for the press, got it off Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Bellemain-Gri...578273101&s=hi

Ha! Sorry man, the thought of Cheech & Chong's Sister Mary Elephant skit was going through my mind when you said you hung out in front of the store. I wish I lived closer to take a couple dozen off your hands. On the plus side, we get to see more griddle pics.

Come to think of it, maybe I would have had more success in front of the 'drug' store. I could have painted them to look like Oreos!

I'll tell you, we can argue over whether one should have a Weber or a PK, a KBQ or an offset, an BGE or a pellet, or a gasser. But one truth is, we should all have a griddle!

Tonight was burgers and fries. Hand cut up a couple of potatoes, let them soak in water in the refrigerator. Rinsed and dried, then covered with avocado oil and put on griddle. While they browned up I assembled the burgers and buns. Pushed the fries to the cooler side to keep warm and put the meatballs on melted butter, then smashed with the bacon press and a sheet of parchment paper. After flipping burgers I put more butter on the griddle and smeared the buns in it and let them toast.

Fries on a griddle? I might have to try that truck someday. I am liking the size of that spatula. I am guessing it is a Blackstone?

My go to "oil" for the griddle when I make pork chops on it is my garlic ghee. So good. I also use it for many other cooks on the griddle.

I created a post about how I make it a while back if this is something that interests you.

Inspired byBighorn Dave andfzxdoc and since I needed it, I made garlic roasted ghee this morning. I grabbed my 2.5 quart stainless steel pot and a pound of

Craigar I thought to myself, "Self, you make diced potatoes on the griddle, why not try fries?" So I Googled and found this video:

So I thought to myself, "Self, you can do that." So I did, but skipped the boiling part. Not as good as deep fried, but quite eatable.

The spatulas are Blackstone. I was searching Amazon for a set and it was overwhelming and I didn't know what the quality would be. WM sells a set that has the two spatulas, one large 'burger' spatula, a scraper, tongs, and a large oil/water bottle for $30, plus I could get it now and not two days from now. They are thick and heavy, almost knifelike on the edge with the bevel, which is good for chopping. Next time I'm around a restaurant supply place I may check to see if they have a thin, flexible set and add that to the arsenal.

Okay, I lied. I have another picture. I know, you're thinking, "Another breakfast picture?" Well, this is a little different. Last night when I made the burgers I toasted the buns on the griddle like I do when I'm using the grill. It occurred to me I could do the same with my morning muffins. At the end of the cook I put some butter on the griddle, smeared the cut side of the muffin into it, the put the bacon press on it. A toasted buttery crunch on one side, the rest soft and warm. Best muffin I ever had, in fact I told the toaster it had just been made redundant. Now it is sitting on the counter looking nervous since it knows it is now just taking up space. ;-)

So here a bed of diced potatoes, onions, and bell pepper topped with three eggs, a few slices of bacon, and the muffins with a bit of local honey.

That's pretty neat. I wonder if you have to use up the butter or if you can just jam it back into the fridge and use again. I have a small (like one egg) CI pan I was thinking of using to have some melted butter at had. I notice in the video posted below they had one.

Finally got around to my first cook, bacon, grilled onions and smash burgers with pepper jack cheese, SWMBO said it was the best burger she has had in a long time, I ground up a brisket, some bacon, rib flap meat and trimmings from some whole beef tenderloins, about a 75-25% mix Click image for larger version

Good job! I like starting with bacon, it greases up the grill. I use a bacon press and I'll slide the bacon around to get the cooking area greased for the rest of the cook. I like how you just used the whole grill!
