There are paella cookers that are very similar.

Pretty comparable to a paella or wok.

That's been around for a while, but it's very tempting...

                "burned"? You’re being too kind.

Now come on, he was really trying his best to make charcoal for his hibachi hanging off the back of the boat.

He said it was "a little overdone." Haha...I was waiting for it to turn to dust when he cut it!

Use them down here alot. Old plow discs with the center welded up. My father in law gave me one, but have not used it in 4 years.

One of the best roast beefs I ever tasted came of a BBQ out fitted with and old plow disc.
Those discs really hold heat and help cook evenly.
Downside, the guy went thru 2-3 BBQ's a season because the disc melted the metal.

I am in the process of making one of these grills. I took some discs from my uncles cultivator. I need to weld a stand for it and then install my burner from my turkey fryer, then I am going to be good to go. These are really fun to cook on. Practical or not, it is a fun time.

If you are going to buy or make one use gas not wood fired. With gas you can control the heat exactly how you want. The wood fire does nothing for the flavor.
