Camp Chef Flat Top Grill 600 - Which Cover Should I Get?

Dick's Sporting Goods has Camp Chef's 4-burner flat top grill for $299 which is $50 less than Amazon's price so I decided to pull the trigger and get myself a dedicated griddle machine. However, I've been reading that Camp Chef's cover leaves much to be desired so I'm trying to figure out if there is a better alternative or if I should just go with Camp Chef's.

I want to get a cover before I move the grill to its forever home in my backyard.

The blackstone cover may fit. Dimensions are almost identical.

The blackstone cover I have is heavy duty nylon with a waterproof backing. Keeps it nice any dry even when left out in the rain, although I do my best to keep it out of the rain.

If you want I can provide the measurements for my blackstone to include the cooktop, both side shelves, height from the side shelves to the cook top, width, overall length, and so on.

I have the black stone cover as well so hopefully that fits for you. Mine sits out all year as i have no place to put under shelter.

I have the black stone griddle, so can’t comment on whether it would fit the camp chef.

I can’t recommend any of the above for your newly acquired CC. As I have the BlackStone with a boatload of accessories. But the BS cover is pretty durable so far.
Man you’re gonna love cooking on that flat top.
Sooooo many things you can do. 👊👍👍

Steve B yeah, the flat tops seem very convenient & versatile. I'll probably just go with CC's cover & replace it later if it comes up short.

Buy once, cry once. $105 but built from 304 SS. I have one and absolutely love it!!!! Sold through Etsy. The guy that sells them is super responsive, friendly and quick

Thanks rwalters I will look into this. Do you use the steel cover by itself or do you have it underneath CC's cover to ensure that your griddle is protected?

I tried the CS cover and returned it. Decent quality but WAY to tight. It was a pain. The SS cover is all I use and have had zero issues. When it comes to griddles and covers, you’ll typically run into trouble with soft covers if you allow rain water to pool up on them and start to seep through. With this solid cover that’ll never happen.

Sweet! I love having a cover that won’t fade, wear out, tear or allow moisture through. IMO, it’s a no brainer from an investment standpoint

Where did you read that Camp Chef griddle covers are junk? I have one for my Pro 90X with griddles and it's great. Heavy duty and covers most of the legs so the wind doesn't get underneath it and blow it away. Get the Camp Chef one that's designed for it and give it a try if you don't like it they will refund you their customer service is top notch.

I've read that the CC covers allow water through causing the griddle to start rusting. The grills are flat so I can see how water would pool on top of the cover & seep through.

I have a Blackstone and I didn’t want water to puddle either. I have a plastic tub I place on the grill but under the cover to create a pyramid effect and don’t have a problem with water collecting.

I used to do the same with my Blackstone griddle/cover by using a full sized aluminum hotel pan placed upside down. Worked pretty good. But unlike the stainless hard top covers, the fabric covers still get weathered and need occasional replacement. Needless to say, I have become a huge fan of griddle hard top covers ;-)
