    Whew! Busy Weekend, Part III...

While perhaps not quite as excitin as havin an army of kids n pets all a runnin round like lil banshees most of th weekend, I actually managed to git some productivity accomplished!

Got two good layers of season onto my Blackstone 36" !

Between work, an weather, it jus hasn't been doable, here, until yestidday.

First, I finished off assembly by addin some accessories:

Neighbour Ricky, across th street, come over an helped me gently set th griddle top on, so's I didn' skin up my powder coatin, tryin to wrestle it alone...
then I hooked up th gas fer th first time...also hung my hardtop, in case any pop up T Storms decided to arrive...

I wiped er down good with a damp rag, as recommended by Blackstone, then lit er off, makin sure all was workin right, an ran ~ 30 mins, to burn off th griddle's preservative coatin...

Let er cool a bit, then another damp towel wipedown, followed by applyin some Barlean's Flax Oil...

Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_5253.JPG Views:	1 Size:	1.15 MB ID:	525868

Another ~half hour-ish, until th smoke stopped, cool a bit, apply another coat

I'll search th pics, put some more up, here in a few...

        Thanks, amigo!
Probly do two coats of Crispbee's, then start in with some bacon, etc.

You getting any tackiness in the lighter areas? Mr. Bones

I have not, seems purty much consistent. I used very light coats of flax oil, well distributed, all excess carefully wiped away. Each time, I ran WFO until all smoke had ceased ~30 mins, then let cool an equal time

I left it inside, since there wasn't any excess grease to catch...
Also made it easier to wipe all th way round th griddletop, inside, n out!

Mr. Bones, I am wondering about the steel hard top. Is that an accessory, does it come with the cooker or what ? I do not see it in the advertisement from Blackstone, but sure looks like a useful item. Also, what is the front smaller item made of same material....looks like a grease trap? I know I am late posting to this thread, I got here as you probably know from your kind posts to my current inquiries made on my own thread about buying a flattop griddle. Thanks you so much for all this incredibly helpful information! Tom
