The local Ace Hardware had a grand re-opening over the weekend with a cooking demonstration and some giveaways. Didn't win any of the big prizes, but I got my wife a belated birthday present as her electric griddle is on the brink of dying.
They gave me a great deal on it, and it has already done 6 pounds of chicken fajitas one night followed by bacon and pancakes the next morning! Definitely a learning curve on getting the temps where they need to be, but we are loving it so far!

Excellent idea getting your wife something you want for her birthday! My wife wanted a chainsaw one year!! Seriously you're going to love that flat top. And you are right there is a learning curve to get the temps right but learning is fun and a lot of times tastes good!
Lol - actually, this really was for her. She had been lamenting on what to replace the griddle with and she hates cooking bacon indoors. When I saw it at the store in person - win/win!
