    Five Guys by one guy

Having mastered Meathead's diner burger recipe in the years since acquiring a propane flat top griddle just for the task, I finally altered it in an attempt to knock off Five Guys. Only thing I couldn't find were the super-eggy sesame sead buns. Still turned out pretty durn good!

Dinner burgers are great. Course so are big steak house type burgers. Guess I just love burgers.

Looks great! What kind of flat top ya got? There is a flat top/griddle sub section love to see ya post some pics there of your equipment and some flat top recipes. I was amazed the first time I cooked burgers on my flat top. Had that diner char crust flavor that you don't get on a grill.

I've got a Blackstone 36" flat top I bought about four years ago. First thing I did was diner burgers--only way to get that crust without stinking up the house! And the space allows me to make 8-10 at a time with plenty of room to flip to a dry surface which I've found is key. Thing cranks out breakfast too!

They look great! Thanks a lot, it's breakfast time here in Scotland, and I have a bowl of muesli in front of me . Is it wrong to crave a burger for your breakfast?

The Five Guys in the Atlanta Airport are required to offer breakfast so they make "breakfast sandwiches" - - essentially a burger on Texas toast with egg. Will have to give that a shot next!
