    Thermometer Water Logged

The thermometer on my Weber Slate seems to have taken on water. Do any of you know if I can just pull it apart to dry it? Or know where I would get instructions on how to fix it?

Is it covered? Did it get rained on? Did it happen by itself just through humidity and no rain? If you don’t have a cover, I’d highly recommend getting one. A blow dryer should get rid of the condensation for now. But, it looks to be a reoccurring problem if not fixed. Email Weber with pics, but just make sure to go into detail with them how it happened.

I don’t cover it. Probably not a bad idea to get one. I’ll email Weber and see what they say.

A cover is great to keep the elements off your griddle, so yeah, I’d get one anyway. But…you’ll still get humidity inside, maybe even more so with a cover as it will be trapped inside with no way to dry out. It seems to me that there’s a defect in your thermometer housing which is allowing moisture in. I’d recommend asking Weber for a new thermometer housing.

You might be able to just hit it with a hair dryer or heat gun... but there's an access point for moisture whether it's rain dew or humidity, maybe it's defective and Weber replaces it
