Smokin-It 3D
Weber Kettle with an SNS
Masterbuilt kettle that I call the $30 wonder grill
Bullet by Bull Grills gasser
Anova WiFi sous vide machine
Thermoworks Thermapen and Chef Alarm
My dad has a 2 burner Blackstone that we have at the lake and he takes on his camping/trailer trips. It works great for up to 4-5 people cooking. I don’t know what he paid for it, but it’s a nice cooker. Is that $175 for that actual griddle? It looks like it has an attached lid/cover? Is it a table top or is it on a cart?

"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." ~Benjamin Franklin
Not sure what model that one is but a quick look at Blackstone's website shows the 28" two burner griddles all have carts and are $279 - $399. Two burner 22" griddle without cart is $179.00. With cart is $349.00.
Blackstone makes specific models for some retailers, notably Walmart, that are not on their website.

Ok, if that is the 22-inch Blackstone, I would pass.
My buddy got one for his birthday from his wife. He loves his 36, uses it 4-5x a week, if not more.
He heated that 22" up to season it and the top warped immediately. Like in minutes. He cooled it down and it flattened out some, but not much. Tried again, warped again. He contacted Blackstone - to their credit, they immediately shipped him out a new top, no charge, no questions asked.
Prolly shoulda been a warning sign?
He's now been through... I think 3 or 4 of those 22" flat tops and not a single one ever stayed flat when heating the FIRST TIME to season it. I think one of them even showed up warped. He's got a stack of them in the shop.
I would never recommend the 22" version to anyone. I don't know what it is about their design, but something about it - at least the one he has, I know they often go through numerous design edits - it just would not stay flat. We're talking taking that top off, sitting on a flat surface and 1 corner is like 1-1½" in the air. It warped BAD.
So anyways, that's what I know about the 22" Blackstone. He never ever got to cook a single time on it.

Just at first pass, without a lot of detail, it looks like a good deal. I have the two burner 22" griddle, Blackstone, I got about two years ago. On amazon, on sale. It has the lid/hood (still dark enough out to preclude a photo, can do later if you like). I also got the fixed stand, not cart but just platform with four legs. In looking at past orders, I paid $259 Nov 25, 2022, and another $79 for the stand, and the adapter to use propane tanks vs the little bottles. I'm quite happy with it. The one you showed looks same or similar, and apparently has cart included? I would buy it, if I didn't already have one, and if there was Vons here. No warping here, I use it a lot.
Add: went back and looked at photo again. Mine is a tiny bit different, just in the coloring of the front panel. I'm guessing it is a proprietary Vons model? Or could just be another. When I went back to my amazon order, looks like they had gone from the 2019 model, to the 2024 model which I got? It says clearance, so might be clearout of summer merch, or might be a newer model coming out. So, I'm leaving here in an hour or so, will be home about 4-5pm and can send you photos or more detail if you like.Last edited by acorgihouse; August 1, 2025, 05:11 AM.

Pit Barrel Cooker
Weber Master-Touch
Blackstone Omnivore 4 Burner Griddle
Thermoworks: Signals, Billows, Thermopens, Thermopops, Nodes, bunch of silicone stuff, and more!
OnlyFire Rotisserie w/ Basket attachment for the Weber
Vortex for the Weber
Both of Meathead's books!
Way too many BBQ related accessories, tools, and doo-dads!
It seems like everyone I've talked to was in one of two camps with the Blackstone:
1. After buying the 22", they almost immediately want to upgrade to the 36" for the expanded space (unless they just don't have more space, think apartment dwellers with a balcony or small patio).
2. They buy the 36", don't use it like they thought they would, and sell it a year later.
I'm thinking I'll pass this free Sam's Club gasser I got a couple years ago along to someone else, and replace it with a Blackstone 36". I like the idea of having a griddle outside, and everything I use the gasser for, the Blackstone would work just fine, and probably give me more cooking area.
I've been keeping an eye on FB marketplace for used Blackstones near me, and I see both sizes pretty regularly. Some kinda beat, some in good shape. Some kinda pricey for a used one, and some good deals. In almost all cases, the deep fryer/air fryer options (if they have them) are usually barely used.
My only criteria is, 36", an attached lid would be nice, a vinyl cover (I could buy one myself, so no big deal), and relatively clean (hopefully not left out in the rain uncovered for 3 years). I don't care about the extras beyond that.
Unless you absolutely want brand new, check FB, local buy sell groups, and see what comes up. And no, I don't have much experience with them, other than my brother-in-law bought a 36" a few years ago and uses it regularly.
Good luck with whatever you choose and pictures when you cook on it!

I talked myself out of it….. I would rather put the money toward my she-shed. I realized what do I need a whole plancha for? I don’t have a brood like some of y’all do. I don’t entertain much.

That was the right call. I usually ask myself two questions:
1) Would I rather have this, or the money?
And, if it passes that test,
2) Of all the things I want that cost [$175], is this the one I want the most?
Both answers have to be “yes” for that trigger to get pulled.

Exactly why I'm happy with the 22 inch, but a she shed! That wins, hands down.
