Because of my patio setup, I can't easily use my Blackstone 36" when the wind is out of the NE or E, or just very windy from any direction. Wondering if anybody has experience and/or opinions on these.

Smokin-It 3D
Weber Kettle with an SNS
Masterbuilt kettle that I call the $30 wonder grill
Bullet by Bull Grills gasser
Anova WiFi sous vide machine
Thermoworks Thermapen and Chef Alarm
I picked out a set I liked and my parents somehow found out and got those for me for Father’s Day. The set I have is great. Really does well and helps retain heat, which is what I’ve noticed much more with use! Here’s a link to my thread on my griddle - I show some photos of them installed. But happy to answer any questions.
Over the years, I’ve eyed various griddles but just never pulled the trigger. Either just didn’t really like what I saw at some stores for the price, or just didn’t want to add another cooker on the patio because of the space. So, I made due with my cast iron griddle either in the house on the stove top or on the grill but that

Andrrr - only issue thus far is discoloration, which can be seen on my original post I linked above. I was surprised to see the discoloration so quickly, but it is one of the most common comments in the reviews. But, as long as they work how they are supposed to work, I’m fine with the discoloration.

I looked at yours and it didn't look too bad. The other set I got seems to have a fair number reviews where the paint starts peeling right away which would be a little irritating. I'm thinking these SS guards are the ticket, they'll be here this afternoon. Thanks!

I built some... lemme see if I can find my thread or pics. I used alum bar stock from Lowe's, drilled some holes... attached. Haven't even thought about 'em since. Prolly 3 years ago.

Here are mine:
I was gonna do some for folks here and ship 'em out to 'em, but then I tried to do it for my friend's Blackstone and realized his has a whole different design and it wouldn't work the same. Also his disperses heat a lot better away from the side shelves than mine. That's when I realized there were probably a number of different designs of how these all attached to their respective carts and I couldn't mess with trying to make different ones for different folks because invariably they would not fit. So I gave it up.
But I used... I think 3/4" aluminum angle from Lowe's, just 1/8". Drilled a few holes and bolted 'em down. They been doing great ever since.
For me, it was as much about keeping heat off the side shelves as blocking the wind, both of which were seriously limiting me. And this didn't totally eliminate them, but definitely improved the side shelf heat by 75% and reduced wind issues by prolly 90%.
