Gift for a new Blackstone owner.

My nephew is turning 50, and has been recently been using a blackstone. His birthday party is in a couple of weeks, and I am looking for a matching gift. Ideas I have right now: IR gun. Thermoworks instant read thermometer, whole rib roast that he could slice up as he will. Are there other things that I am missing that a Blackstone owner would use? Let me know.

Grill rescue grate cleaning brush, recently reviewed on free side. Really like it on my griddle. Instant read and IR thermos more important though.

Agree, an IR thermometer is essential.

The Thermoworks thermometer is always a great tool to have! I use it constantly for all cooks. The IR Gun I bought, which was cheap, was so I could learn the temps on my Blackstone - i can see where the corners are cool, but I wanted to know what the temps were in the middle as well. So, is it needed - not necessarily, but it’s nice to have. I purchased a silicon griddle mat for my Blackstone because of where I live, wanting to keep the dust off the surface when not in use. I have the hard cover and a black cover for the entire thing, but that fine dust gets everywhere out here. It works great, but it may not be everyone’s preference.

A gift card to a meat shop is always fun for people as well and I’d be excited about a rib roast too. Or some various rubs depending on what he likes to cook.

Tools spatulas, scrapper, squeeze bottles for oil and water. He might already have some of those as they're basic for any griddle user. IR gun and digital thermoworks which you named are key too. The gun is a must to learn hot and cool spots on his griddle.

In addition to the excellent suggestions above, a good burger press is perfect for making smash burgers. I’ve got one similar to this and they work great.

In case he has several tools already you could go with all the fixins' for an entire breakfast meal. Bacon, sausage, eggs, pancake mix, real maple syrup, etc.

A griddle steam cover would also be nice to have:

Edit to add the link does work for me.

Great suggestions. Now I just have to decide how much he's worth and start buying. Thank you all.

In addition to the other stuff you mentioned, he needs a heavy duty turner, and probably doesn't even know it.

I love my Dexter Russell 6" x 5" that I picked up soon after I bought my Blackstone a few years ago. Great for smash burgers, and anything wider than standard spatulas that are sold as griddle tools.

As mentioned above a point and click IR thermometer to know the various temperature on the griddle. I’m still using a relatively inexpensive one I purchased on Amazon more than ten years ago. My wife keeps snagging it to check her skillet temperatures on the inside stove. Pretty handy to have one around.

I finally settled on a Thermoworks IR gun and a Cuisinart dome with wire rack that fits under it. Should help with pizza and reverse searing steaks, etc. If I'm feeling really generous, I might even add a meat package. I'm a nice uncle. Lol

Those will be a fun addition to the accessory collection!
