I finished the modifications to make our Chuds smash burger press fit a small 17 inch Blackstone griddle. Not only does it fit nicely but I didn’t alter the Blackstone base at all so I can lift the Chuds press off and set the griddle back on it. At ten minutes burn time on the Blackstone I had a temp of 485 F on the bottom of the press. It turned out to be a great proof of concept. It’s held together with 1/4 inch socket head bolts so if i needed to alter it I hadn’t wasting material by having to cut welds out. Before all the steel came in for the customization we sat it on my Camp Chef turkey frier burner. It worked great. We were turning out a patty about every minute. If you’re a smash burger fan this makes great ones. Yes they are expensive but my son bought this one for me so I’m out $90 for steel and bolts and 2 hours time to build the adapter. This is a blast to cook on. This would press tortillas, definitely sear a steak, blacken fish, or cook bacon in a hurry.

Nice mod, clever. You should send Robinson a pic, he'd probably steal your idea (pun sorta intended).

Uncle Bob If you know how to send him these pictures then by all means do so. It’s not nearly as well finished as the next one will be. Like I said this is a prototype just to see if the idea would work. I don’t care if he uses the idea. The last thing I want in my life is another lawyer or accountant.

He’s a big social media guy. I follow him on instagram and he reposts pictures of people who tag him. Mainly it’s been pictures of his Chudbox, something I’m also intrigued by.

I do like to fish. And all kidding aside, I will be reaching out to you and several other of my Texas friends early next year for your advice about possibly relocating to Texas. Pros/cons, favorite areas, areas to avoid, tax outlook, etc.
