    Konro/Yakitori grill grates

I have a Konro diamonite grill for cooking Yakitori, etc. The grill grates that came with it slide around and drive me nuts! I am looking for alternatives.

Any of you solved that problem? I am thinking of wiring them together with aircraft wire but thought I would look for alternatives first.

Here is a photo from last night's cook and a stock photo of the grill.

Alphonse at my old job, we had a custom grill. I remember some of the grates slipping around. Chef just dealt with it because we actually needed the flexibility of moving them from side to side to allow for skewers. I like the aircraft wire idea, though!

Tie wire always works for a lot of things...Heck I remember some of my old cars...

Maybe some small stainless steel bolts & nuts in the corners as stops.

Yakitori grills don't need grates. Just put the skewers across the edges.

I think I agree with two things that have been mentioned:

            1. Add some type of stop to the grates, to keep them from sliding off the grill. I am thinking little legs at each corner, that fit JUST inside the edges of the grill.

            2. Use skewers instead of grates when possible. Then you don't have the issue. I know its a pain to thread stuff on skewers. We have some metal ones, but more often than not I use the cheap bamboo throw-aways.

I use skewers at times. I prefer the flat metal ones that don't burn and keep the food from rotating.

However they are not always what I want to do. They are too much work when cooking smaller shrimp and onions as in the photo with the OP.
