Weber Summit or Large BGE most versatile smokers and grills
PK360 great two zone cooker. Downside is it can be tight to for a full brisket and you have to cut ribs in half (though they make charcoal baskets that go lengthwise)

Back for some input. I have a new possibility. There's a Blaz'n Grills Grid Iron for sale on a Blaz'n Grills Facebook page. Grid Iron, with WiFi, Pro shelves, pellet dump, and a Fireboard with weatherproof case, that the seller bought last February, for $1200. If it were only a hundred miles away, it would be at my house now. But it's in Wentzville, MO, six and a half hours away. Actually, the trip would be a good reason to visit my daughter in St. Louis. She moved into a new house in May, and I still have not been there. It's just a matter of figuring out when it would work for me to take a couple of days for the trip. My daughter will be coming here tomorrow, but I don't think it will fit in her Prius. Which brings me to the information I'm seeking. To get it, assuming someone else doesn't beat me to it while I'm trying to figure out how to get it done. I can either borrow my son's F150, or I'm wondering how hard it is to take the legs off of one of these. I have a Ford Flex, with a back opening that's about 32"x 44". I know the thing is heavy, 224 lbs. I'm not concerned about my vehicle carrying the weight, just getting the smoker into the vehicle without damaging either the car or the smoker. The truck would be easier as far as loading up, the CUV would be easier because it's here, and I wouldn't have to make the vehicle exchange with my son, who is an hour away.

If I get the Grid Iron, I will probably take the Grilla to our new house, and keep the Grid Iron at the parsonage so I can cook for the whole church.

If your Flex has a hitch, you might think about renting a small U-Haul trailer one-way from Wentzville to your home.

Actually, I have a "small" 6x10 trailer I've borrowed to move some of our stuff. Trying go get by without towing it that far. But it is definitely a possibility.

Isn't the Blaz'n Grills just what you really wanted? That's a God Wink! (Squire Rushnell) Send the person a check and figure the rest out over the next few days. Let us know what you decide. Good luck!

It's actually the bigger of the grills that Blaz'n makes, that lists for $1449. I was looking at the smaller one, but had thought about getting a bigger grill so it was not exactly what I already had.

With this budget, I would go with a RecTec or used Yoder ys640. Good luck in your coming ministry.

Actually, I'd be buying the Fireboard with weatherproof case, and the seller is throwing in the grill for just $950.

Thanks to everybody for their input. I just put half down on the Grid Iron. The guy also has a Yoder, and the Blaz'n Grill wan't getting used. As he said, first world problems. He has to many smokers, I have to many houses.

Yep, I think the Grilla is going to the new house, and I'll keep this one at the parsonage for when I need to cook for church events. 😋

It's great that you found just what you wanted, Bogy and a Fireboard to boot. Wow! You've got a BBQ angel sitting on your shoulder, I'm thinking.

Enjoy your new cooker and thermometer setup.

Well, I don't need a new smoker anymore. At least not at the moment. At least not until I get the Grid Iron home. It's loaded on the back of my son's F150, parked outside my daughter's home in St. Louis. Plan is to stop by St. Louis BBQ Store in the morning on the way out of town (8 minute trip from her house) because they have Blaz'n accessories on clearance. Unfortunately, I'm only going to be home long enough to drop it off and load up the OG, before I take off for a meeting scheduled for Tuesday. Won't actually have time to try it out until at least Thursday. Or maybe I'll have time to try some burgers.

The burgers and brats got done on the gasser while I cleaned up the Grilla for it's move and got the Blaz'n in its place. Hopefully Thursday.

Now that I had the Grid Iron in my possession, I wanted to make sure it didn't escape. Parked outside my daughter's house in St. Louis.

In it's new home in Iowa! When things settle down I'll be putting in a deck/patio for it to sit on.

The Grilla relocated to our new vacation/retirement home. Lots of space to move around. That white fence way in the back, that's the end of our property. The shed behind the garage is going to become a playhouse for the grandchildren. Still trying to decide just what kind of a deck/patio we're going to do. To my surprise, my wife suggested an outdoor kitchen, so I'm thinking and dreaming. Have a few years to work on that.

Here's the Grilla's home when we aren't there. Grilla is a little lonely right now, just him and the freezer. Next week this will start to fill up. My son (who sells Lumberjack pellets at the store he manages) has offered to check on prices for a pallet of pellets for me, but I just don't know if I'll have room for that much.

I found out why I got the deal I did. Last year I purchased the Grilla from a guy who was a Grilla dealer when they were still making them in the US, and had dealers. It was his floor model/demo unit. Basically, it's the same deal on the Blaz'n Grills Grid Iron. With one extra step. Blaz'n has ended its limited dealer network. The guy I bought this one from bought it from a former dealer on clearance. I have a copy of his receipt, and I paid just a little less than he did in February, plus he threw in the Fireboard with all the probes and weatherproof case. Don't feel bad for him, he still has 2 Yoders to get him by. Which is why he decided he really didn't need the Blaz'n Grill.

Last night we weren't at home, have a dinner meeting tonight. I have a brisket that will get cooked tomorrow for my first cook in the GI. I think its a HOF, the processor I used in my old location always separated and trimmed the brisket, I took it out of the freezer last night, haven't had a chance to look at it yet today.

SMOKIN fool, when we first looked at the house my wife was concerned about a lack of storage space. Then we stepped into the garage, and storage space wasn't an issue anymore.

"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's garage", except in this case. I would make it my man cave and probably not go in the house very often.

Craigar, this garage probably has more square footage than the first couple of places my wife and I lived. I'll have to admit, I showed the picture of the garage partly to show off.
