I think when you were looking at the Spider Grills Huntsman, you were on the right track. That Venom controller works.
I visit Weber forums on Facebook and Reddit, and many think that a 26 Kettle with the Spider Grills Venom is THE set up.
I've bought Kettle Carts from Spider Grills and been very impressed.

I can't speak for anyone but me but I got rid of a cheaper propane/charcoal combo that I kept alive much longer than a Wlalmart grill should live (regular cleaning, garage kept). I also rid myself of an Akorn that wouldn't hold heat despite overhaul and was a pain to add fire to. I replaced them with a Camp Chef Pellet grill but, anticipating the smoke challenge, opted for the version that allows me to add wood chunks and get very good smoke on my food. It is great for unattended long cooks as I have a lot on my business and personal schedule.
I will be adding back a kettle in the near future for hamburger, steak, and other higher temp shorter time grilling. I'd love to build a permanent outdoor pit with pizza cooking capability, and to enjoy on a winter night. I'll probably add a pit barrel and others I get on sale just because I like to experiment. But the pellet and kettle will do the regular work.

Bud has always been my barley pop.
Been smoking a handful of years, just got serious in the last two or three years. Thanks to AR n @glemn picked up an SnS Kamado for appx 1/3 price of new. I dont think he used it twice. Love AR! keep calm n smoke on! Miss you Bonesy.
What goes around eventually comes back around. I have 7 or 8 dif grills, smokers, n cooktops. No pellet Poopers.
The one I use the most is a free 22 that someone set out by the road, still in the orig box. I do not worry abt covering it up while it is still hot or getting rained on. It does have the SnS coal tray. Awesome in it's simplicity n durability.

Just watching what all my neighbors are doing both home and at the lake, I’ve seen a pretty consistent pattern over past 15 years. Most people still only have 1 grill on their patio. It’s just changed to a pellet grill or griddle instead of a traditional gas grill. If they have more than 1, It’s a pellet grill, griddle, and/or pizza oven.
The tech in other grills, especially gas is in response. Companies thinking tech is why people move to pellets versus the flavor so they’ve been adding tech trying to reclaim market share. Weber obviously knows the real story though continuing to invest in the Searwood and Smoque even after the SmokeFire kinda bombed and merging with Blackstone. They also have some leaders thinking tech will save the other lines too (or at least keep them contenders for what’s left of those markets with more die hard pitmasters).
Anyway, that’s my real world simple mind take on it. What’s the next 10 years? Probably a lot of tech innovation in thermometers, prediction algorithms, etc. Big fights for the ultimate safe grill cleaning brush. More all in one machines that can do it all very well (not everyone knows the secret of a kettle/kamado or wants charcoal). While part of me sadly thinks Weber might be on the downhill, I do think the Searwood or its next iteration has a chance to be the ‘one’ grill everyone needs. It’s just they have competition that’s ahead of them (both experience and market share wise) and they don’t like making affordable packages that would get you everything for a reasonable price that others will put together. Weber wants you to buy every accessory at full retail.

Also, the reason I focus on Weber (besides them still being a big company) is I do still think they hold the lead for searing ability on a pellet grill for mass market grills. Only the stuff people like us here would buy from smaller companies seems to match that aspect. Others have searing options, but often very limited space.

I kind of see the future as being a jack of all trades kind of thing. A grill, smoker, combo kind of thing. One grill to do it all. Smoke it, griddle it, grill it, there are a few out there now. Weber is going that direction in a slow kind of way with some of their recent offerings. That Ninja FlexFlame comes to mind as a do it all. Somebody will do it one better on the smoker part though. Maybe even feed it charcoal instead of pellets. That's the way I see things going at least. Do it all from one simple grilling ,smoking, griddle crazy, machine. After all most of us like simple most the time and manufactures know this.

Everything is going to go super high tech and expensive then super high tech and cheaper. It will be a world of complex multi fuel, app, Bluetooth, wifi, log feeder cookers. Then 30 years from now there will be some rich kid with a coffee can, charcoal, wood chunks, and a can that will produce bbq with nothing but charcoal and wood, it will be revolutionary!!! Everyone will run out and by or make cookers that connect them to the earth in a more spiritual way blah blah blah 🤣
