    The weather

Some people deride gas grills, calling them 'just an outdoor oven'.

Considering how hot & humid it is in southern California (Ventura county), I'm happy to have an 'outdoor oven'. I'm thinking of cooking a scrambled egg casserole in it.
My WSM is cooking a tri-tip right now -- maybe I should wait until next weekend, and smoke that egg casserole?

Heck yeah. Why not give it a chance? I bet it turns out great.

Love my gas grill and so do my coworkers and church folk.

Since I went to exclusively charcoal, I dont think my family would let me go back to a gasser...

The gasser is a great outdoor tool for many tasks. I use mine mostly for searing and my SS griddle.

My gasser is a 2002 Weber and works well. Although I don't use it often I believe I'll always have a gasser.

When I got my Traeger 6 years ago, I sold my WSM and my gasser. Figuring that I would not need them anymore, since I had the all in one. Well after using charcoal for the last 4 years or so, I do miss the convenience of turning on the gasser and being able to cook burgers or hotdogs. But I do like my charcoal grills and would not trade them in. But if someone offered my a free gasser or I won first or second prize in monthly give a way here. I would certainly take a gasser.

I sure wouldn't say no to a free one...
Given the option though, I think I'd go with a griddle over a gasser
Seems the griddle can do everything the gasser does and then some..

I would argue that any smoker is just an outdoor oven........but who am I to say.
