chunks on gas smoker?
So my masterbuilt is made for chips and i think it even says in the manual (though i am not 100% sure since i don't keep the manual at work) not to use chunks. however my father in law gave me a cross section of a hickory tree trunk and it would be a lot easier for me to chunk it rather than chip it. so my question is: do you think it is fine to use chunks in a gas smoker and if so do i need to do anything to these chunks such as wrapping in foil to reduce air? or will the chunk just smoulder for a little while and i would get way more use out of chipping it?Last edited by DeusDingo; June 9, 2015, 02:09 PM. Reason: nevermind i just re-read the gas grill setup articleTags: None
