So, it has come to this…

Extreme fire danger, burn ban, and red flag warnings (no charcoal, pellet, or stick burners allowed) are making the coming national rib day (July 4th) very doubtful. However, propane is allowed!

Do I order a Masterbuilt ThermoTemp XL knowing it might not be delivered in time? Cook them in the oven? In a pressure cooker? Just admit the communist have won and boil them?

The burn ban will go away sooner or later once snow is back on the ground…

I don't know what you should do, but I have a ThermoTemp XL at my vacation home and I like it just fine.

I'm in the go with the flow just try to make the best of it group.

Maybe use the gasser and have "Burn Ban Burgers", "Hotter than Hot Hot Dogs but at least they're not on Fire Hot Dogs".

The weekend can still be fun!!!

Have you considered an electric smoker? I hear they work just fine. https://www.amazon.com/EAST-OAK-Elec...e17e03685&th=1

I dragged it out, but after only using a few times it is dead so to the dump it goes.

Yes, I have a digital electric, but the electronics have died. So, now it is a question of buying something now or waiting.

I use propane and wood chunks or small splits on the vertical I built after cooking on a Vault propane smoker.

Use smoked salt to dry brine, then smoked paprika and smoked pepper in MMD rub. Use liquid smoke as the binder. Cook in oven. Not as good, but better than boiling. If you like sauce get one that has smoke flavor in it

Had a Thermotemp XL before I moved and loved it. Just couldn't bring it with me. Go for it!
