Finally bought my Smoke Vault and found that the burner goes out even in a very low wind. Tried closing the vents, not much difference. Sad coming back to a cold smoker. Any suggestions? Should I try getting those sealing kits for the door? Make some sort of "skirt" for the bottom? Note: this is not high pressure from the tank, only opened 3/4 turn as suggested in another post.

Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.

Sorry for the upside down, they look right on my computer.
I got some stainless sheet metal from the roofing dept at Home Depot and self threading sheet metal screws. Cut to fit, painted black, drilled holes thru sheet and legs, put in the screws and cut off the screw ends with a recip saw. Had to do some fancy cutting around the temp setting, but no big deal.
So far this seems to have much improved the flameout problem.
NOW I may have to upgrade my WIFI so that my cell phone maintains touch with my FireBoard and tells me when the temp gets out of range. Men and boys, and the price of their toys.
Hope this helps some folks out there.
