Nothing worse. I grabbed my Lodge Dutch Oven (that had been in the oven at 475 for an hour and a half) with my thumb sticking over the side of the potholder about a month ago and it's still not back to normal. But I was able to bear removing ice from it after about 12 hours. Good luck bro

Was it ever normal? Just askin.

I tried to melt my hand off by dumping my spray bottle in the grill, the steam cloud definitely made my hand lobster red for a few hours, luckily had some frozen peas and didn't end up with any blistering. Not a fun thing getting burnt.

So sorry to hear this Jerod - I've had lots of burns over the years from doing similar stuff, and its never fun. Hopefully your whole hand won't blister up.

Now the question is - did you finish assembling the new grill one handed, or is it still sitting outside waiting on you to heal?

Not much worse than a burn. Wish a speedy, full recovery!

I'm "ouching" for you, Jerod. Those burns sure do look painful.

Been there, done that. You have my sympathy!

Yeowch! I bet that hand is still sore today. I bet you released some tasty vaporized compounds in the process, grabbing that bar as you did, although they probably went to waste. Seriously, though, I hope you're well enough to shoot that bow and arrow soon.

Ouch. Having grabbed the lid of a pre-heated Dutch oven a couple weeks ago baking bread, I definitely had a glimpse of what you're up against, although I was able to let go quickly. Looking back, I can't decide what was worse, though, the pain from the burn or continuing to kick myself about how dumb I felt about doing it.

That looks rare. Throw back on would ya.

Eeekk. I feel you brother. One of my favorites is cleaning the flat top and slipping off the grill brick or scrubby and onto the surface.

Gahh. Luckily it's been long enough the scars have faded. Of course, now I own a flat top so I can get griddle burns on my own time.

                    Ouch!
I applied electrical power for flight attendant once we got the plane in the hangar. Pilot had left pitot heat on. I started cleaning bugs off the nose...........…...bumped into screaming hot probe. Instant third degree. Still have a white spot on my forearm from that one.

Sorry for the burn. Hopefully you minimized the tissue damage by getting it on ice quickly.

I thought the photos were kind of artistic though. A quick first glace looked like smoke rising from your hand until I realized it was your feet in low light.

One of many reasons why I bought this thing!

Also I still get burned sometimes

Jerod Broussard well I just joined you in the "burn yourself today" club. Dumped some coals into the vortex and a little piece of stray coal fell onto the deck. Unbeknownst to me I stepped on it, barefooted of course from a momentary lapse in good judgement. Well it took a second for the pain to set in and by that time that nickel sized spot on the ball of my foot was approaching well done. Lifted up my foot to see the culprit still stuck there. Brushed it off with a wonderfully colorful batch of language and here I sit with aloe and ice.

Looks like I'll just have three blisters. I was able to let go of my problem rather quickly.

Kinda like pulling a horseshoe right out of the fire bare handed. Doesn't take long to look at it, does it? Seriously, keep a close eye on it for a few more days. Tissue damage below the skin can take a while to show up, be nasty and dangerous.

Been there, done that, got the scars. I feel your pain.

wu7y my wife was worried that I got a 3rd degree burn and frankly I was wondering too. So late Sunday afternoon she took me to the ER to get checked out. It's a "really good 2nd degree burn". And yes I can tell the tissue deep down got some heat too.

Oh boy I don’t envy you.
I’ve gotten that t-shirt in more than one occasion.
My whole palm and fingers have been blistered.
Alcohol was not always a factor....
