    Two Zone on Weber Q

I have a Weber Q I use for tailgating, I was wondering if anyone has set it up for two zone grilling. I am also wondering if anyone has done thawed frozen foods on a grill. I saw a recipe on the Grill Grates website for thawed frozen foods and thought those would be easy apps for a tailgate and something different. Always looking for tailgate food ideas.

If you have a 2-burner Q3200, then yes you could set it up with two zones. The single-burner models (I've got a Q2000 somewhere) would be much more difficult ... if not impossible.

I'm not sure what you mean by doing "thawed frozen foods" on a grill. If you could give an example, it would be helpful.

Yeah mine is a single burner. Raviolis, potstickers, mozzarella sticks, pierogies, egg rolls, things like that.

Oozzy - you could probably thaw/cook those sort of things if you could shield them from the direct heat. Maybe a small grill grate (not a GrillGrate) sitting on a pan ... perhaps with water in it to keep things cool and provide some steam?

I've thought about but haven't tried 2 zone cooking on my single burner Weber Q. You would have to try a create a heat delector. Perhaps one under and one over half the grate? If you figure it out let us know.

Maybe a small pizza stone like ones for a toaster oven? I will mess around with it over the next couple of weeks. I am just trying to get some versatility out of it for tailgating.

Yeah I think that might be effective. But maybe a metal heat shield as well?

You know, on second thought maybe the stone would soak up too much heat? Perhaps players of metal with air between would work better?
