Hell all,
This weekend I went to Home Depot and I picked up some Easy-Off and Weber grate cleaner. I bought the Weber Spirit grill back in January, and yes I know my grill cleaning habits haven't been up to par. So, I filled up a couple of buckets with some hot water and Dawn. But first I sprayed the grates and the interior of the grill with Easy Off (yellow bottle). I let the grates sit for 2 hours (not in water) and I began cleaning the grates with some steel wool. Not much came off and I did heavy rubbing on those grates. So, I applied more Easy-Off and let it sit until Sunday (overnight) submerged in the water with Dawn. This afternoon I pulled them out and I got better results. I still have some black crud on the grates that just wont come off, but overall it looks much better than it did before with time allotted for this cleaning.
I did read this article http://amazingribs.com/tips_and_tech...intenance.html but I didn't have a steamer or the tools mentioned in the article. So, I went on youtube and got some good information. However, one major problem I can't get a flame going on my grill. I hear the ignitor clicking, but no flame nothing. I do smell the propane getting into the grill but no flame at all. I even installed a newly filled proprane tank. Any advice would be great.
Please acknowledge attached pictures are post cleaning. Also, I did notice some marring on the finish of the left table of the grill, can I fix that?
