Hello everyone , I'm in the market for a new LP grill this year my 3-burner charbroil Red is just too small most of the times. So this time I'm after a nice big 6 burner that will last more then a couple years. The 2 grills I've been looking so far at are the Weber Summit s620/s670 and the New Genesis II LX s-640. I'm wonder which one I should lean toward seeing as this will be my first Weber gasser. Or is there another 6 burner grill that I should be looking at?

Both great choices of course. Saber makes a large infrared model, if you like the infrared cooking of the Red. I had a Red too and loved it in summer weather. They don't have a 6-burner model though (yet anyway). Do you literally need 6 burners, or just need the general size of a 6-burner?

Still testing the Genesis II LX. Summits are excellent. 620 is being discontinued so you may be able to find one at a close out price. Neither the new Genesis II LX or the 620 have sear burners, while the 670 does. Plus 670 includes an IR back burner and coooool pop up rotisserie system. There are other large gassers available. Use our Searchable Equipment reviews to find options.

Huskee, I do like the infrared cooking of my red. But have found that ever year to a year and a half I've had to replace the emitter plate because of warping. And not necessarily a 6 burner but yes looking for that amount of realestate

Weber Summit E-470 gas grill with built in smoker box
Maverick 733 thermometer
Thermapen MK4
Thermaworks DOT
2 Thermaworks Big & Loud timers
The book "Meathead"
Wolf gas range, double oven and warming drawer
All-Clad cookware
JA Henckel knives
I have a Weber Summit E-470 with sear burner, pop up rotisserie and IR burner. I really like the grill. The 470 is a 4 burner grill. It has a built in smoker box, that works fairly well. I had Weber Genesis Silver B for 13 years before I got the Summit 2 years ago. Weber is a good product.

Saber doesn't like to use the term infrared any longer, however, their burner system and grills are high quality versions of parent company, Char-Broil's TRU-Infrared gas grills. They do make a couple large four burner models. I highly recommend Saber for quality construction and ease of use. It's pretty hard to burn or dry out meats with Saber.

Homeplace cooking/cookers
Past: Weber Performer, Sunbeam cheap CHEAP gasser, CharGriller offset
Current at home: 1999 Weber Silver C, Weber 22" Jumbo Joe Premium, Pit Barrel Cooker, Ikea wired thermometers (2), iGrill mini,
"Deployed" cookers: 2001 Weber Silver C (father in law), mid 90's Weber Genesis Redhead, fully restored (Parents house).
Do NOT get the Summit. The Spirit, Genesis, and Genesis II models all have the flavorizer bar mounts cast into the aluminum firebox. The Summit does not. The steel mounts on a Summit will degrade and rot away within 10 years. I don't know what Weber does when this happens but it's not worth dealing with anyway. The Summit cost too damn much for what you get and the improvements built into the Genesis II aren't on the Summit.
I will allow that the Summit has provisions for slow cooking and the rotisserie but who cares? Keep your wallet stocked and have more fun by getting the Genesis II of your desired size and one or two Pit Barrel Cookers for your roasting/smoking work. If I have a gathering of any size, it always seems I have the grill AND the PBC going anyway so it's better to have both.
Genesis II. Easy choice.Last edited by TroyOHchatter; March 11, 2017, 02:18 PM.

Check out Napoleon, they have solid grills. I have a 10 year old prestige 2 with an ceramic infrared red sear zone. Nice roll top lid. Plus, made in Canada. ..at least mine was. The workmanship seems top notch to me. Hard to beat Canada or USA made. Much more pricey than a Home Depot grill though. I Don't use it much anymore . The wife will use it though.
