I gave in this afternoon and picked up a Q1000 to supplement my Premium kettle with SnS. I fired it up to grill some dogs and noticed what appears to be a split in in the burner tube (see pic, straight underneath the split in the grate). Anybody else got one and know if this is a design feature or a defective unit?

Thanks. I'll stop by the store tomorrow to check the others that they have to see if they're all the same. What grate temp can you get? I had mine on full blast for 10 mins and it got into the low 400s?Originally posted by Nate View PostI am pretty sure mine has that same thing.... I will double check when I get the chance to fire it up again.
I use that thing more than I care to admit for a quick cook when I get in later than expected in the evening.

Oddly enough I have never take the IR thermometer or air temp thermometer to it... I know... shoot me... If I remember I will try it next time I fire it up...
I need to work on the gas tube on mine though... in the upper right quadrant the flame is pretty wimpy compared to the rest and usually has a longer delay in igniting than the other sections....
