After seeing the new Spirits and reading Max’s review about the new burners, I decided to get a better gasser for the camper. Only 2 cooks so far, but I like it. I wouldn’t trade my Genesis at home for it (with half stainless, half GrillGrates), but up here where I mostly cook for 1-2 except 1 week a summer I think it’s going to work great. Plus with the fold down side tables I might be able to store it in our little shed over the winter.
When we bought the place we got a BBQ island with a Duro pellet grill and I put a little Q2800N+ beside it on the island. I rushed the purchase wanting a gasser because we’re in the boonies and I work remotely here for several weeks of the summer and wanted a gasser for most of the cooking at lunch and dinner (so can get done quick and go fishing). The Q was alright, but I missed 2 zone abilities and it has a ton of iron for the grates since the grates are also serving as the flame protectors, So way more conducive heat than I prefer. I’m trying to sell the island and pellet grill, but only scammers have inquired so far. It’s too heavy for the deck here. Plan is a new smart performer to cover smoking duties if I can get the island a new home
