MCS: Talk me out of getting this

Update #2: I went ahead and replaced the gasser. The wife says to me a couple of weeks ago, "are you ever going to get your other grill?" So, without delaying too long for her to change her mind, I went with the Genesis E-430 Stealth edition. It doesn't have the side burner which wasn't a need so I was fine with that. I'll be grilling some carne asada for dinner tonight on the maiden cook.

bep35 lol, I thought about that when posting but this is from Father’s Day, my birthday, and a Christmas present.
It does have that Homer Simpson vibe when he bought Marge a bowling ball for her birthday.

Probably a fine choice on that Genesis.

I have a Weber Summit Platinum D6 from 2005. (What a mouthful that is.)

Anyway, it’s an outstanding 6-burner grill with all the bells and whistles. Not a single regret about that purchase. Ever.

But…if I were looking to replace it…I’m pretty sure that I would not get another Summit. The new ones are NOT built like the old ones. At all.

I’d probably either go for something less expensive, given the build quality of the new Summits that I’ve seen…or look somewhere else.

The carne asada turned out great. I unfortunately like to wait until the last minute to get started so I’m rushing to get it all done when the family gets here so I didn’t snap any pics. 🤦🏻♂️

You will not miss the side burner. They usually get used so rarely that the bugs fill the gas tube between uses.
