Weber Genesis Silver--Dealing with front and back burners
My gas grill is an older model two burner Weber Genesis Silver. The burners are front and back rather than side by side. When I bought it a dozen years ago I had not discovered the joys of 2-zone cooking. Had not used it for awhile, going exclusively with charcoal. Brought the gas out of hibernation this spring for convenience of grilling on weeknights. Finding the front/back burners frustrating for two zone because the grate space on indirect section is longer and narrow.
Any suggestions on dealing with this? Are there new burner kits that would make it side by side?
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Thanks, Huskee. I've been so focused on charcoal I haven't read Meathead's gas grilling articles. I'll try the water pan technique. I live two villages over from Meathead. Maybe he can show me the technique when he delivers my copy of his book 😀. Really great stuff on this forum and the site.
My gasser ( Weber Genesis Silver B - 3 burners ) is now basically used for hot / quick cooks since going kettle in 2014. Haven't read it, but I'm sure the article mentioned by Huskee has great info.
I think the water pan is an essential addition. Also, the actual grate temperature is going to run 50-75 degrees higher than what the dome thermometer reports.
