Help with frozen bolts on Weber Summit Shroud

Weber has sent me a new cookbox for my 16 year old Summit gas grill. I am stuck trying to remove the old shroud (metal flip up cover). The clevis pins are out but the bolts are stuck. Have tried Blaster and FreeAll penetrating oils as well as heat. Not moving. Any suggestions are appreciated.

So heating with a torch and then tapping with a hammer or punch and hammer isn’t making any headway at all?

Sounds like the pin is rusted together with the hinge knuckle. Since you want to get this done sooner than later I suggest drilling it out. First cut off the area where the cotter pin went through since that area is most likely hardened. Use a center punch to start the drill hole. Then drill out and be sure to use some cutting oil to protect the bit. Just my 2¢

Total joke: Maybe the threads are left-handed. Try turning them the other way. :-)

Reminds me of some advice someone gave me about the torque on an oil drain plug, “tighten until it shears and then go a quarter turn more”.

I would just drill them out.

Kroil is magic. It’s getting me through an EV conversion and restoration of a 63 year old family car. Kroil is also helping to keep a 1990 Jeep YJ from defeating me.
