I'm buying a 36" Fire Magic Echelon grill and considering replacing 1 of the 3 burners with Infrared. Is this a good idea or unnecessary due to the heat produced by the stainless steel burners? I'll also use the charcoal/smoker basket on indirect cooks and wonder if the infrared limits my options for protein placement, drip pans, etc. Any advice out there?

When I purchased my Blaze, I ordered an infrared burner for the left zone. I received all 4 regular burners plus the IR burner. So I do not think that they will just send out 2 regular "E" burners and an IR burner. You can contact them to make sure.
