This morning I saw a a pretty rough looking Holland Grill for sale on CL. It's a Classic BH-421-SG-2, looks like made in the mid '90s. It's a non-stainless cooker. I've yet to see it in person, the guy wants $50. New these things go for a min of $650, I'm guessing this is a based model. Lots of rust, and like I say in the couple of pics pretty rough looking. Regardless, it might be an interesting restoration depending on what shape its actually in, I'll find out on Saturday.
After reading about these things I wonder what the big deal is, they're gas, can't sear with very limited smoking ability. Also they to be somewhat fixed in temp at 350 deg, basically and outdoor oven. With my MAK 1 Star and 26" Weber with a Slow-N-Sear XL I'm wondering why I would even want this on my deck even once restored.
I have seen them in stores, but its been years. I do know they are very well made.
For any owners or any one with experience with these things, am I missing something?
