The timer trick also works well when you stick a bottle or can of beer or soft drink in the freezer for a quick chill.

My wife checks the grill later in the evening , she puts the cover on the grill if I haven`t done so . Only once I left it on and she shut it off because she noticed the cover was not on .

When I need to remember to something I leave myself a reminder I know I'll see later. Take your alarm clock, book, etc. off the nightstand and put it on your pillow. You go to bed and think, well that's odd, oh yeah I need to check that the grill is off. Place a glove on the steering wheel - oh yeah I need to grab the dessert for my work potluck.

Yeah, just leave yourself a signal (it's called a kanban in Japan) somewhere you can't miss it. For instance, when I know I'm going to be dealing with snow the next day, I park the snow blower behind my vehicle in the garage the night before. I've got a bright red plastic card (approx 8.5x11") with the word "SNOWBLOWER!!!" on it that I place on the steering column in front of the instruments so that I don't back over the poor thing by mistake.

One option could be installing something like this inline where the grill hooks to the gas line. I am sure there are other ones that are cheaper. I would want more than 60 minutes too if possible.

Prevents waste of propane and natural gas on barbecue grills, gas fireplaces, outdoor patio heaters, fire pits, etc.   WALDALE is looking for new dealers! Please call or e-mail to discuss.

you would just have to reset it every 50-55 minutes during a long cook on the gasser, to avoid it shutting off on you.

Napoleon prestige series grills have nifty knobs that light up blue when off and red when they are on. Prestige pro have color changing LED knob lights that stay red when on.

So there is that, if you are feeling the MCS itch...

If I need to remember to take something with me when I leave the house I put a plastic garbage bag under a windshield wiper. Then I just have to remember wth it was I was supposed to remember.

I used to tie a string around my finger. Then I lost a finger due to no blood circulation for 2 days.
