Buying as a wedding gift. Will be used at beach house, so corrosion resistance is a high priority, and trying to keep the price no more than about $750.
Any specific model suggestions from Pit members, or Max Good ? Thanks in advance!
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Thanks Huskee used the tool and keep coming back to some Broil King, Weber and Napolean options. Hoping the community here has some specific experiences with these and other models, specifically in a salt air environment. Thanks again.
All three are great brands. This is a good time of year to pick up deals on close outs. Look for aluminum and stainless steel components. Are you in the same neighborhood as this beach house? If yes, check out local retailers and discuss your concerns regarding corrosion.

I’ve had my Weber Summit Platinum D6 (geez, that sounds so pretentious) since 2005...new it was significantly more than the budget and much bigger.
It lives outside year round...covered when I remember. When I forget, I just hose it off and we’re good to go. Granted, I no longer live at the beach...but it’s still been durable.
Now...if I were looking for a small(er) grill...I’d certainly check out a Genesis.
I have the Napoleon Rogue. It’s Three burner with the outstanding IR side burner. With research I did with a heavy Max influence I would go with the Nappy or the Broil King. They might be a touch over budget but worth it.
Can't address the potential corrosion aspect, (I live just outside of Phoenix) but I bought a Weber Spirit II 3 burner in July and it has been great! Especially after replacing the Weber grates with the aluminum GrillGrates. No flareups, easy to use as a smoker with pellets or chips, et cetera. I have smoked turkey, pork chops, chicken, St. Louis ribs and have done fast short smokes for flavor on steaks, burgers, brats, veggies and such. longest smoke so far was about 6 hours on ribs. Easy to control temp for 2 zone cooking, too! If you are a veteran, Lowes and Home Depot both do 10% off.
I would look for things with either cast aluminum or stainless steel parts that get hot. Certainly stainless burners. Stainless flavorizer bars / deflectors / whatever they call them are a plus, but remember replacements are usually easy to find. Same for the grill grates.
Enamel steel for things like the lid is OK, assuming the warranty is good.
Also don’t overlook the cart. An aluminum cart would be ideal, but I think that most (if not all) sub $1000 grills use steel. You can verify this with the magnet test. If a magnit sticks, it could rust. But if the magnet doesn’t stick rust is very unlikely (except for possible light surface rust that is easy to remove). If the magnet barely sticks then I would count that as a no stick with the idea that light surface rust is a higher possibility should the finish get damaged. If a steel cart can’t be avoided, open is better than closed because you can see problems developing sooner and fix them easier.
If there is a Lowes near you that has the Weber sprit and broil king you are looking at in stock (and they haven’t gutted the grill section for Christmas stuff) you can give each the magnet test and go with whatever is the least sticky.
I think I would lean to Weber though. Seems like no matter how old tge grill, there are always replacement parts for Weber.

Yep, went with the Weber - mostly due to availability and post-sale support at the location. The Broil King was a close second, I really like their heavy cast aluminum construction. Thanks for all the input!
I would like to ask this question again, 2019 edition. I am also looking for a 3 burner gas grill to complement a Weber performer with a SnS and a new pellet smoker (most likely the Traeger Ironwood 650). My budget is around $1000 and my size limit is around 56 inches including the side tables.
I have narrowed the choice down to the Weber Genesis S-335 which has a sear burner and the Saber Black Cast 500. Weber has the name and the support and new grill is a nice return to form from the LX debacle. But I love the Saber grill and can see that it is really well built with better steel. Plus I am using it primarily for searing items cooked in the pellet smoker and like that it gets hot. But the dealers are smaller and I know less about Saber as a company. While stainless is nice, the black cast looks nice too and the other grills are black. Also, I don't care about the side burner on the Weber.
I looked at the Napoleons in that price range and I feel that the Weber and Saber are better built for the money.
I have a couple of Webers 3 burners. Although I like them I do have an issue that you might want to consider. My burners run from right to left which is my down fall. I wish they would run front to back. It’s hard to do a indirect cook on em. I have to add pans and what nots to achieve it but hey, sometimes ya just have to adapt and over come. Mine are abused and neglected but they still keep on ticking. They hold up well.
