Thanks for taking us along your journey. I still need to pick up a gasser, eventually, no rush, and these kinda things help me learn what to put in my top 3!
For anyone wondering, I checked out a cupple blaze models. Those things looked solid, but price was high.
If I hadn't found this summit at such a great price I think I would have gone with the $1400 nepoleon prestige 500. I was comparing with the $1150 nepoleon lex model, and because of the included rotisserie, I liked the flavorizer bars/V tents above burners better, and nepoleon stated the burners we're 403 stainless. The biggest reason nepoleon was stainless and IR burner for searing steaks.
Thank you everyone for chiming in I hope people in the future can use this comparison, and for anyone that has a nepoleon for a few years should do a review on how well it has held up.
I've attached a picture of my new grill, with a bonus of my others.
I just went thru the same thing (see my posts a couple weeks ago)... I wanted to buy thru Lowe’s for 12 month interest free. Tried to get a Broi King but Lowe’s doesn’t carry them in South Fla. ended up with the new Weber Spirit.
Couple suggestions for the group- (1) recently saw Home Depot advertising Napoleon on their website AND they had a interest free if you get a credit card deal. (2) if you’re worried about searing, out $100 of your budget towards Grill Grates
Remember that Lowe's gives veterans and active duty 10% off everything. Just show ID or DD 214 to customer service and they will put you in their system as military/veteran/retired. You will get 10% off everything. Just tell cashier at checkout! It saved me $50 when I got my Spirit II E-310!
We just moved to the Cleveland area, and bought a house. I cook with charcoal on my more serious meals, but I like to just throw stuff on a gasser, too. I get tired of trying to keep propane tanks full and so wanted something connected to our natural gas line. After a lot of reading and researching I decided on a Napoleon Prestige Pro 500RSIB. I get it next week and can't wait to try out that IR Sizzle Zone. I'll let you all know what I think.
