I have a Weber Genesis that's a couple years old now, and before that Weber charcoal kettles going back to the dawn of time. No complaints about any of them. I also don't think you can go wrong with the Napoleon. My guess is that durability is about the same. Weber accessories are perhaps a little easier to find, if you want them.

I am actually in Ontario, Canada, the home base of Napoleon, so those accessories are all over the place... and yet I don't know a single person who has ever owned a Napoleon *shrugs*

Just a quick update for everyone who gave me advice, I would like to thank you all. I ended up going with this handsome fellow; Broil King Baron 490. Found it on sale with some goodies thrown in, 6 burners, 65000 btu, 644 sq inches cooking space, time for some grilling fun!

Here's a more accurate picture, considering it came with the rotisserie

I like the inaccurate pic better.

Good grill! My wife and I got a Broil King as a wedding gift 32 years ago and we used it for 18 years! We replaced in with another Broil king that lasted 12 (it would have gone longer but a storm launched it from the deck). Enjoy!

Congratulations. When I was looking at Broil King in my local Lowe's - that was the model I had my eye on!

I was actually at Rona looking at the Baron 440, when I saw this beauty. It was 100$ more, but the rotisserie kit + the rotisserie burner and a free 85$ cover, I couldn't pass it up. Now to put it together, should be fun lol

Loftyloft Best advise I have for you based on my friends experience with a Broil King Signet model is to figure out if your grates are porcelain coated cast iron, or uncoated cast iron. His single biggest complaint was that his grates rusted up beyond usability over 2-3 years of owning the grill. I used the same grates on a Weber Genesis for 15 years before replacing them with aluminum Grillgrates, and never had rust issues due to the coating. If yours are not coated, it just means you need to pay attention to seasoning the grates properly, and dry and oil them, between uses - just like with a cast iron skillet. I am sure Broil King has some best practices recommended for maintaining them.

Also - note that the 490 is really a 4 burner grill - not 6. Those extra 2 knobs are for the rotisserie burner and the side burner. Broil King's burners are super efficient and put out a lot of heat though, and 4 burners will be probably better than many other 6 burner gas grills.

Thanks for the heads up, I was thinking the same thing, so before I bought it, I checked on BK's website to make sure that they had stainless steel grates (they do), so I will be investing in those

I looked good and hard at this model before I bought it, and although it does have 4 main burners, the side burner and rotisserie burner still count to me and my brags, dammit! lol have a good weekend

Good to know they have SS available Loftyloft. I like cast iron, but have never dealt with any that were not coated on my grills.
