Hi, I'm trying to find out if anyone knows of a bbq repair person in Calgary Alberta Canada. I have a Vermont Casting natural gas bbq and after many years of satisfactory service, the electronic lighter is conking out. Now as 'Winter is Coming' I'd much prefer to press the ignitor button to start it up, rather than standing out in the cold and snow with a lighter hoping to ignite it manually. Thanks and cheers, Robb
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.
About meReal name: Aaron
Location: Farwell, Michigan - near Clare (dead center of lower peninsula).
Occupation:
Healthcare- Licensed & Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at MyMichigan Health, a University of Michigan Health System.
I just looked on Amazon and they have Vermont a Castings Ignitor assembly, ignitor wires, (in various lengths), and ignitor lighter buttons. It should be easy to pull out and replace the items for about $50 US. You can probably find videos on youtube to show you how.
Or call Vermont Castings customer service and they can probably sell you the parts and tell you how to install them. It should only require a screwdriver and maybe pliers.
Thanks, as I'm not exactly the handyman type, the picking up parts from Amazon or VC wasn't my first choice; however I do like the idea of talking to my mechanic; might have to bribe him with a reverse sear tri tip! If all else fails, maybe I will take it on myself, then I'll likely be looking for a new bbq! LOL! robb
