(I have no idea why I seem to be dialed into the US CPSC lately, but here we are.)
Conair has recalled nearly 13,000 Cuisinart Propel+ Four Burner 3-In-1 Gas Grills as the tempered glass used on the pizza oven component can shatter: https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2026/Co...eration-Hazard
Conair and the US CPSC have 37 cases of the glass shattering. (That seems like enough to indicate a design flaw, I'd argue.)
The grills were sold at Walmart, Lowes, and online through Cuisinart's website between December 2024 and May of this year.
Now, I thought this was curious.... the recall notice states that the grills sold between $500 and $750. The grill is clearly being discontinued, so consumers' only option is to remove the glass, take a photo of the removed glass, take a photo of the serial number, supply those to Conair and get a $500 refund.
I'd be a little irked if I paid $750 for the grill. And you know the refund comes in a debit card that makes it nearly impossible to spend the whole amount.
