Lynx Propane Gas Grill Rebuild advice

I’ve owned a Lynx 42-inch Propane Gas Freestanding Grill since April 2016 and it needs some work. L42PSFR – 2 – LP. I’m not sure what may have changed in 10 years but here is a link.

    https://www.lynxgrills.com/products/...tisserie-l42tr

The Igniters have needed replacement for some time, I actually ordered one but never installed it. It is very easy to manually ignite the burners.

I can’t say I have maintained it very well but also don’t use it much as I typically smoke but like to use the gasser to sear.

The last time I seared a steak, I turned off the grill and shut off the propane but noticed smoke pouring out of the grill. It was a grease fire and I did the best I could to cut off oxygen but it just needed to burn itself out. I didn’t have a fire extinguisher unfortunately. I need to order one.

Next time I tried to start it up I couldn’t light any of the burners.

I’ll call a Lynx grill parts store for recommended replacement parts and advice.

Who are the best options? I bought the Grill from BBQGUYS.com.

I get emails from BBQ Depot so I must have ordered an igniter from them.

Any others and who is the best to work with?

I would consider a local Seattle/Tacoma Service Company to do the rebuild if reasonable.

    Thanks.

I'd call Lynx directly. When I needed parts for my Blaze, I contacted customer service via email. They actually sent me new parts free of charge. I had to take pics and send them in but that was it. I found the contact info for Lynx.

Hulagn1971 I should have tried that before ordering two new igniters (Electrodes) and 4 new micro switches. I plan on replacing all the igniters except the rotisserie for now.

I may still call. I should be able to manually start the burners with a small propane torch, which I could do until the grease fire.

Now the burner feed tubes are not providing gas to the burners and gas and pressure is released from the tank hose if I disconnect it.

      Thanks.

I hope they send you what you need. I am the second owner of the Blaze cart (bought off FB marketplace) and I let them know up front. They still sent me parts for free. LED lights for the knobs, the inner LED lights and harness that shine down on the food and a new stainless steel flame tamer. The lady said if I ever needed anything else just to let them know. Incredible customer service and a company that goes above and beyond for sure.

Hulagn1971 No, Lynx did offer to sell the part to me though, plus shipping. I bought online for the same price but with free shipping. It was my carelessness on a 10 year old grill so I wouldn't expect Lynx to cover it.

I called Lynx. They suggested an initial trouble shooting step.

Do a bubble test on the manifold to check for leaks.

She suggested replacing the regulator isn't usually the solution.

After taking off a rear cover, I believe replacing at least the regulator hose might help just a little ): .

Lynx says I need to buy the hose and regulator kit and can't order the hose separate and reuse the regulator.

I'm glad the propane gas tank was in the off position when the grease fire started.

I'll still do a bubble test and replace the igniters.

      Thanks.

I’m pretty sure that the hose and regulator are universal and not proprietary. I got one for a Broil King, just picked a blister packed hose and regulator off the wall at Home Depot. All that stuff has to fit standard fittings.
