Looking for a gas infrared grill -- Saber/Tec/others?

Wondering if anyone cares to comment on choosing an infrared grill. Primary use would be searing since I have sous vide and smokers for low and slow cooking. Looking at the smaller Saber and Tec units, but would be interested if anyone care to nominate other makes/models. Anyone using a TEC Cherokee FR Portable? Does this have the same technology as the TEC G-Sport?

If you've used these grills for a while, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts about longevity and long-term operating costs. Seems that they have more complicated burner systems. Do they need to be rebuilt every four or five years? What sort of costs have you run into as these units age?

If... Money is no object, here's the best gas grill of all time with the best InFraRed setup ever... IMHO. Max Good may or may not agree.🤔

Yes Max. I don't need an acre of grilling space. Really looking for something a little quicker than the blowtorch I've been using. It does a very nice job, but torching four steaks or a half dozen burgers takes a while.

The Lynx grills looks live very nice equipment. A little more expensive than the TEC, but the 24" unit looks like it could work for my purposes.

DSiewert ... If you can afford a Lynx Grill, you've done well. Go for it, that's a kick ass grill!!!

What about a Crown Verity grill with grill grates cut to replace the stock grills? The BBQ itself is top shelf - made for commercial use and the grill grates are about the best thing for a gas grill ever.

I hadn't looked at the Crown Verity grills before. They look to be an implementation of a very well-thought-out design. I'm sure replacing the grates would help get it closer to a sear machine. Thanks for your suggestion.

I've been reasonably happy with my Solaire. Good construction, can do reverse sear well (infrareds IME get cooler on the indirect side with other burner on low and lid closed than many think). Negatives are, while searing over high heat it sure seems to produce a lot of smoke (I think the v-shaped grills trap drippings and which smokes when it's on high), and the width of the v-shaped grates doesn't give that nice even browning Meathead advocates without a lot of flipping. Overall it's comparable to the 10-15 year old TEC I had at my old place.
