    Twin Eagles Propane Grill

Hi. I’m considering a Twin Eagles 36 inch grill, with the cart. I’ve never had ceramic briquettes…I really like the pull-out drip pan…it’s very hard to line up the drip pan to put back in my Napoleon. Twin Eagles also makes Delta Heat…feedback regarding reviews of Twin Eagles grill would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Andrew! That's one nice grill, and you're in luck, we have a review of this one:

Twin Eagles makes some of the most beautiful gas grills we've reviewed, matching high power performance with stunning fit and finish.

Way back in the old days, my first gas grill (don't remember what brand it was) had ceramic briquettes. As I remember, they worked pretty well. They would heat up and when the meat you were cooking started to render, the fat would drip on the briquettes and vaporize. That added a lot of flavor.

I don't have any grill with ceramic briquettes, but I have to wonder how well they would hold up with the amount of thermal expansion they would be subjected to. But if you know that you might have to replace them every few years, then I think they would work great.
And welcome from. Wisconsin. Glad you could join us!

I have a higher end Summerset propane grill with the ceramic briquettes that are clamped in a panel similar to what I think the TE has. Their purpose it to diffuse the heat more evenly, which they do. I've found that they work well enough but the dispersion "softens": the heat output of the 20k burners. This is good for controlled heat cooking, but takes away some of the heat intensity for searing. On my setup I have an infrared burner to take care of searing and rapid cook needs. I've had this rig for somewhere near 9 years and the briquettes have held up well with moderate use (I do far more charcoal cooking). They are an expensive replacement item in keeping with the initial purchase outlay. On the other hand, the use of better quality 304 stainless gives the holding racks longer life than the low grade racks found in most modest priced cookers that look similar but aren't made with the best quality materials.
