I'm planning on building an outdoor kitchen this year and have decided to go with one of the Napoleon Prestige Pro Drop-In gas grills. I'm trying to decide whether I really need the side sear burner and, if so, how to configure. If I need the side sear burner, is it better to go with the Prestige Pro 665 and a separate searing burner; or to go with the 825 which has a separate side burner as part of the unit. If I understand this correctly, I'd actually have more cooking space with the 665 and side burner and the cost is basically the same as the more expensive 825. Thoughts? Or, should I go with just the 665 because I really don't need the searer? Thanks all.

Other useful bits...
KitchenAid 7-qt Pro Line stand mixer
A Black & Decker food processor that I can't seem to murder
A couple of immersion blenders, one a "consumer" model & the other a "high end" Italian thing. Yes, the Italian one is a bit better, but only marginally
Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus 8-qt + accessories like egg-bite & egg holders
All-Clad pots & pans, along with some cast iron...everything from 7" Skookie pans to 8.5qt Dutch ovens
Weber GBS griddle, pizza stone, and wok
Knives range from Mercer to F. Dick to "You spent how much for one knife? One knife?!" LOL
I’d probably lean towards the 665 with the added sear burner simply because I like having a bit of extra real estate when it comes to my grills.
As you are building it, you clearly have options...but to ME, a side burner of some sort is NOT an option and gets used quite often...and a side spear burner frees up more of that real estate.Last edited by surfdog; January 13, 2020, 03:39 PM.
