I turned on my grill yesterday on Father’s Day and all the burners would light, but after a few seconds I began to get a hum I never had before. Not wanting to risk having an explosive Father’s Day, I turned it off and used my BGE. Any ideas as to cause or fix would be appreciated. For me the hum spells danger.

My first thought is check the venturis underneath to make sure none are plugged with anything, caterpillar, spider, etc.
Next I'd remove the hose and regulator from the tank, and then put back on. Open the tank valve SLOWLY (some grills' regulators have a flow sensor/restrictor and opening the valve too fast, aka "normal", can cause it to try to restrict the flow) then relight and try again.

A common problem with propane tank fueled cookers is the regulator, at or near the tank valve, will make a noise that some call a hum. It's the diaphragm in the regulator fluttering. Most product companies say it's not dangerous, however annoying, and that closing the valve, removing the connection, reconnecting making sure it tight, and then gently opening the valve should cure it. Sometimes that works, sometimes not. If it persists then a new regulator is in order.
