    Coffee grounds?

I'm sure it's been posted many times, but I was curious about coffee grounds. Not in the sense for a specific flavor enhancement, but could they be pressed into pellets for pellet grills?

"Subtle coffee aroma." I've had coffee-crusted roasts and that flavor does have their place, but as for a general-purpose fuel? No, not for me. And pretty much any pellet vendor is going to have to meet or beat $20 for a 40 lb bag, which is what I get at Academy.

It’s not clear from their website if they’re 100% coffee grounds or some blend of regular wood and coffee grounds. Either way the performance stated in their lit would be amazing if true.

    Wow! $20 for 20lbs? Ouch.

Yes - and the grounds are already used.

I mean $1 per lb used to be pretty much the average price before the market flooded with decent and even a couple quality options at sub 20 for 40lbs

Might as well burn dollar bills instead.

smokenoob, actually I wasn't. You can put them in a leg of women's hose, and grow mushrooms on them.

I'm familiar with the joke. In fact, I've had the mushroom syndrome myself a time or two over the years.

It's common in people who work for the government or a large corporation.

I've used coffee charcoal briqs before, but not pellets. It would be nice if this were a viable and affordable option, thinking of the many literal tons of wasted coffee grounds daily t/o the world.

I am wondering if used coffee grounds that are dry could be sprinkled over the fire or maybe in a pouch would accomplish nether same effect.

I do not have a pellet pooper but I hate to pass on a deal. I bought a 40lb bag for $12.99 as a Costco close out. Kim got us a small Solo Stove n turns out pellets n twigs work wonderfully in it. The next time I saw another 40# at Costco I picked another one up.

Wow that's expensive for a recycled product. It sucks I have to use a pellet smoker for the time being. My apartment will not allow propane, wood, or charcoal grills. Hower since a pellet grill is electric that is acceptable.

I know you've felt the intense irony that pellet grills are wood.

I know right? All they said is since it plugs in it's electric.

Well, that logic opens the door for a KBQ! It has 2 electric fans. Or a BGE with a bellows attachment.

I throw it in my garden in the spring. Usually, I throw them out in the yard. Back to nature.

It would be interesting to taste what food would taste like if made from coffee grounds. So many grounds these days contain flavoring and what not, so I suppose you would have to look into that as well.
