(WHTM) – Thousands of propane exchange tanks have been recalled by
Worthington Enterprises, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Thursday.
The recalled cylinders can leak gas and pose a fire hazard.
The recall affects about 146,160 tanks EVAS 20-pound propane exchange cylinders. The cylinders have the model number EVAS – M0859, a serial number beginning with a “W,” and a date code of either “06-23” or “07-23” stamped on the collar.
While the recalled cylinders were first sold with an AmeriGas label, consumers may have exchanged them with other propane distributors, who would have placed their own branded label on them.
Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the recalled propane cylinders, completely close the top valve and return them to any AmeriGas Propane Exchange retail location for a free replacement.
