Interesting that it seems premium priced in many places. In my area, I can get it for 20$ CDN for a 20 lbs bag. That’s about 2$ CDN more than Kingford’s at local Wal-Mart. I have had great results with the Weber charcoal and I am going to go stock up today!!!

I bet this will be a time to get a deal.
I have never tried the stuff, but I always just figured it was similar too Kingsford. Which is great charcoal. Sounds like Kingsford is, indeed, the king of briquettes.

I still have a half dozen bags from the 3.99 sale. I like it a lot. I don't think I would pay full price for it. I'd rather get FOGO...but for briquettes it was great.

I absolutely loved the Weber briquettes for long cooks and am completely bummed its been discontinued. I hit up my local Ace where I've been able to get it for the past year+ and they didn't have any on the shelves. I asked, and was told the same - its been discontinued. KBB is fine for most things for me, but I did two 10+lb butts on Wednesday and had to refuel - the Weber briquettes would've lasted. They didn't burn as hot and produced a lot of ash, but man they'd burn forever for those long low & slow cooks. There was a cool test with results posted in 2017 that compared KBB, Kingsford Professional, Kingsford Long Burning (not), and Weber in various ways. I suppose I'll try B&B.

- If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
Sad to see it go. I've not had anyone local carry it since the end of 2018, when I stocked up on a bunch on clearance. I've been burning through a stack of KBB and Kingsford all bought in 2018, along with a few test bags of B&B I got at Academy last Thanksgiving. I will likely switch over entirely to B&B once my stockpile is depleted.
I used to use a full bag every smoke with the offset. Using the kettle, I get so many more cooks per bag of charcoal that its put me off using the offset unless it just won't fit the kettle.
