Price went up this year a bit but they went back to the 20 lb. bags instead of the 18.6 lb. bags

I think last year it came out to $.27 per pound. This year it’s $.32 per pound.

Wonder if Home Depot will run a similar sale?

My local Home Depot has a sale on Kingsford starting Friday (I think), but it's $14.98.

My $150 I have set aside for charcoal will get me 11 twin packs. I’ll need to take the misses with me and the neighbor boy. Our Lowe’s is usually a stickler to the Limit per customer quantity.

I wonder if my military discount will apply on top of the sale.

          Yes...I'm that guy...

They always honored the military discount on top of the sale price. I have several HD's and Lowes in my area. The store management has the discretion to do what it wants. If one says no, I'll just go elsewhere.

I've been patiently waiting and hoping that HD has their $9.98 twin pack this Memorial Day weekend. I only have two bags left from the pile I bought two Memorial Days ago. Glad to hear that Mr. Bones and Huskee have an eagle eye on the sale release date, I was starting to lose hope!

I got worried when that wasn't in my local Lowe's weekly ad. Then I went online and saw they have what they call "in store promotion/DIY" insert (which for some reason we don't get). The Kingsford promotion is listed in that insert.

Right now I have bags of pellets and Kingsford in my garage that is stacked 4 bags wide and well over my head high (I'm 6'3"). If I buy any more my wife says she's leaving me. Hmmmm should I or shouldn't I ....

For the Memorial Day sales, I always use the start of hurricane season as another reason to stock up. So you're not needlessly buying more charcoal, you are providing for your family in the event of natural disaster.

Already used that excuse for stocking up on meat...it's all used up

I'll be on it. After Labor Day, I had 10 bags stacked up in the back seat of my truck (it was raining, so I couldn't use the bed). My wife used it to help our nephew move, and he thought it was strange. This year, he asked me to let him know when it is on sale in case he misses the ads... We are contagious in ways other than just MCS.

Thanks for the heads up! Slightly cheaper even than the Sam’s Club sale. 👍🏻

Thank you, thank you. I was at my local Lowe's for their 6 AM open to load up. I ran out of my Kingsford stash on Sunday, so I was in need. Time stamp on my receipt was 06:05 AM. Ha.

Our Home Depot is selling the same size Kingsford bags @ 40 lbs for $14.88. This is a huge price increase. A few years ago, you could get 2-20 lb bags for $9.98. Then they reduced the bags to 18.6 lbs (still a good deal at .27/lb). 40 lbs @ $12.88 is a little over .32/lb (18.5% price increase). I went to Lowe's after work and picked up 80 lbs worth.
