I found 14.5 pound bags on clearance at Lowe’s for $1.90 per bag. I purchased 11 bags and have gone through a few. It lights kind of quickly but it doesn’t quite burn completely. The ash it leaves is all in the shape of the briquettes. The smoke smell is off putting. Do NOT use if for low/slow. I made that mistake once. If it’s thoroughly lit it’s okay for grilling. I don’t recommend it unless you can get it really cheap like I did.

JeffJ I was at Home Depot and did not buy it. I saw somewhere else on this site that Embers Charcoal is Royal Oak. For some reason RO hasn't worked well for me in the past. I really don't remember why but I remember making a mental note to not buy it again.
Usually around Memorial Day Kbb goes on sale an I buy a lot of it and then restock around Labor Day.
