NOTE, this is not referring to the Match Light soaked charcoal. This is a different product, where you light THE BAG itself, great for camping or for park grills, etc.

I had a chance a couple years ago to use them when camping. I actually enjoyed using them so much that I went back to the little store that I bought them from (while on a camping vacation) and bough a few more. Sure, not the most cost-effective way to buy K-ford, but, it really works and I had a great experience with them.

Pros- Don't have to lug a bigger bag of charcoal, a chimney, a method to light them.
Cons- piece rate, more expensive than a larger bag of K-ford. DOES have lighter fluid.

But, if you let them burn until white, well-lit, and HOT, the lighter fluid part is a moot point. I used them for the public grills at the park, you know the type. Worked GREAT!

Note: I do NOT recommend them for using at home, such as in a PBC, kettle, etc, obviously. These are a standalone product IMO and have a very specific purpose, and most likely that purpose is not your home cooking needs.

    Anyone else?

Yea agree they would be convenient on a camping trip I suppose. A small regular bag and a few fire starters wouldn't take up that much more room however.

And I just noticed, you hit the 13,000th post mark....beast mode !!!

Woo hoo! I did! I guess I need to take a break and be less talkative, lol. But yeah, you are right. I used to take bags of charcoal and a handful of lighter cubes on all my trips. One year we had less room for those luxuries, yet we still took the kids to a park and wanted to cook up burgers instead of spend $75 on a restaurant for lunch. I found these in a store I went into for beer. Loved using it. Occasionally I do the city-guy-tourist thing. In this case they worked great

Let's see if I can get this video to post.

It won't embed but there is the link. I could see keeping one of these in the trunk.

I saw it at Ace hardware in California. I was going o buy it but I decided $15 was too expensive.

What keeps the bamboo grate from burning?

Good question. Maybe they're relatively green?

I used it once years ago. It worked as advertised.

I used it when camping on Elliot key. It’s in biscaybe National Park accessible only by boat. The bags fit perfectly in your standard "park" style pedestal grill. Light the bag. Don’t need any accelerants.

Just keep the bag dry. Doesn’t work too well if it is exposed to bow spray
