    Kingsford's new packaging.

If someone else has already posted this info, I did not see it, so here it is. The new bag is 20 lbs and a two pack is going for $23.88 at the local Lowes. If I remember the old price correctly, that makes the extra four lbs more than $1 per lb...

Great deal! You can find this at Costco too. I love this time of year for charcoal.

You run Pro in your Primo? Or what cooker do you use it in. I only use it in my PBC. Attjack

Spinaker No, I meant that I only use lump in my kamado (and my green smokey joe). So I use briquettes on my 26, 22, and 18s when I grill. So high heat is what I'm looking for. Plus you can dial in whatever temp you want by moderating fuel or airflow anyway. So Professional works fine for me.

Can't wait until they're half price, although I'm still stocked well.

Yeah I’m stocked for the year too, after my Wally World closed out flavored KBB at $3 a bag.

Thomassen I have a pallet of charcoal in my "garden room" that's indoors and completely dry. An appropriately sized pallet and a dry garage would be a good way to go.

Thomassen , garage. Please don’t tell my wife of my latest. She knows about not paying Gentile prices but really objects to bags "everywhere", "stacks of em"!

Thanks, I could use a little more. Or a lot more.

So that's the new KBB ?? Haven't seen that yet. What's with the 100% All Natural Ingredients crap, what do they think we're eating the stuff

They've always (as far as i can remeber) stated all natural, now they're just featuring it louder.

The old bags were 18.6 lbs each, right? And they had two-packs for $19.88. So, an extra 2.8 lbs for an extra $4.00. That sucks. I’ll get the competition at Costco for $13.

I see the size of the bag all over the place. What I am buying is 15.4 lbs. Dollar General has it on special for $8 per bag until 5/1

Yeah, that's (price increase) not cool. About two years ago around this time HD had their big KBB 18.6 lb double pack sale and I got what looked like a pallet's worth. I'm down to about three bags left, so I was hoping to catch a similar sale soon. This ain't it.

The sales will typically be Memorial Day weekend, July 4th, and Labor Day. I'm betting they will still have those sales, it just may be more than $9.98 for a 2 pack.

Guys price increases are a fact of life, everything from bread to gas to toothpaste goes up. The good men and women who work at Kingsford need raises too. If you can't part with a few more dollars for a few cooks using Kingsford, it's going to happen to your next charcoal of choice I can promise you that.

I too picked up a two pack of Professional at Costco over the weekend. Haven't used it yet. Can anyone speak to how it compares to Weber charcoal? Longevity, ash, temp etc?

It's been a while since I used Weber but IIRC it will probably burn quicker and maybe hotter than Weber. Not sure about ash.

I saw that too RonB. And, its actually not even 4 pounds more charcoal. The old bags were 18.6 x 2, new is back to the 20 x 2 they had years ago. So we get 2.8 pounds more charcoal, for $3.89 more than the old non-sale price of $19.99.

I bet the summer sales are not $9.98 for these 2 packs anymore either.

This is not an uncommon practice. Many companies will reduce the amount in the container and keep the old price. Then, at some point they will increase the amount shouting that you are getting more, and the price will be higher. I have noticed over the years that toilet paper rolls are getting narrower.....

                    It’ll probably be $12.
