Did I miss a critical post on Costco and Kingsford Pro Comp Twin-Packs?

Just went by my local Costco to pick up my usual Kingsford Pro Comp Twin-Packs and they were not to be found. I asked some folks in that section and they said they hadn't seen any Charcoal Briquettes at all for a while. Didn't know when they would restock.

So I thought, well I'll just order some on Costco Online, they are showing absolutely no Charcoal at all.

Did I miss a critical post about Costco discontinuing carrying this?

I can find the twin packs on Amazon but they are bloody expensive ($75/twin pack).

Has anyone else run into this?

I can tell you Home Depot and Lowes have had super sales lately on remaining stock of KBB. I saw somewhere, here (?) that Kingsford is going to 20lb bags with an increase in price. But other then that. I know nothing.

Looks like a trip to my local Big Orange and load up. Sure seems odd that it has disappeared off the map at Costco though.

It comes and goes at our Costco. Reduced price only around Memorial Day if I remember correctly. Porterdriver

Depending on where you are, selling charcoal or bbq anything isn't going to make winter time retailers any money. I've found that Costco gears up for seasonal sales. They will bring in plants and lawn chairs and charcoal over the summer then switch to Santa Clauses over the winter. I'm sure they will gear up again when spring arrives.

Hopefully, they switch to KBB and start carrying quality lump too.

Our local Lowe's is selling 14.5 pound bags of Stubbs for $5.49 per bag.

Our local Home Depots are selling 14.5 pound bags of Embers for $1.90 per bag.

Apparently I cried "Wolf". My apologies to the group. Charcoal is back at Costco; matter of fact it's on sale. So it is a seasonal item... Clearly the folks at Costco are not the deep grillers that most of us are. I never thought of charcoal as 'seasonal'.

That’s why when Lowe’s has their Labor Day Sale I stock up. I bought 16 bags of KBB. I have two left in my garage now. Good thing charcoal is now back in stock.

I always stock up there at the end of the season. And yeah, it's definitely seasonal. Too bad for those of us who grill all year, lol.

I like the "pro" stuff better than the standard blue bag. Less ash.
