I ordered the Fogo brand from Amazon 5 or 6 times, 35lb bag for $50-56 is the best I’ve seen it priced. I really like that stuff. I haven’t ordered it in a while tho (primarily PBC and KBB now), but from what I remember it was primarily large chunks and I don’t remember being disappointed with it being all broken up.

I use B&B. I love that stuff. It works great, burns forever and you get a nice range of pieces. I honestly don't know what I pay. I buy 10 bags at a time, or as much as they have in the store so I don't have to go back for a while. They only sell it at Wal-Mart in the TC, and I hate Wal-Mart, so I buy as much as I can at a time to avoid having to go back.)
I use FOGO too, and I think its the best stuff on the market, but it is pricey. About $50 for a 20 lb bag. If I remember correctly.
I used Rockwood for a while, but I think their quality has dropped and its no where near as good as B&B. IMHO.

Spinaker the hardware store? Yeah, it might be a weekly stop.Ha! No, I'm sure I will like it. I haven't been steered wrong by The Pit in the past, so I'm sure I will like this brand. I'm just happy to have it available locally. I might have to see if I can talk them into stocking the B&B briquettes Jerod Broussard talks so highly about.

Walmart had Western lump on clearance late summer - $6 for a 35 pound bag. Needless to say, I snatched up several bags. It burns pretty well but I have some gripes. It has a big variance on the size of the pieces with a bunch of tiny pieces at the bottom of the bag. But that's been the case for other more expensive bags of lump I've used in the past, so not a big deal. The biggest gripe is trying to handle a 35 pound bag especially when pouring into my small chimney. It's not the weight that's the problem, it's the size of the bag itself. It's hard to see what you are doing with a bag that big. Early this spring I dropped $25 on a 20 pound bag of Kamado Joe lump. I've used half of the bag and it's the best lump I've used yet. I save it for special occasions.

Backyard Jambo, T1000 Woodmaster, MAK 2 star, 14" & 22" WSM, 2x 22" Weber Kettle, Stoven, Hot Box Grill, Hasty Bake Ranger, RecTeq Bullseye, GMG Davy Crockett; Original Grilla and others I'm not remembering!
It's cheap and not sparky, so I use Brookshires Lump Charcoal from my local grocer. I really, really miss Ozark Oak.
Got some B&B oak briquettes I've been meaning to try. I really like the Kingsford Cherrywood briquettes in my Jumbo Joe.

I am not a vegetarian, but I eat animals that are
My preference is FOGO. I buy directly from their site. I buy the black bags for my kettle. Mostly smaller to medium sized pieces. Absolutely love their lump charcoal. With that said, it’s hard to pass up Royal Oak at Home Depot. Not a bad product and the pricing sure does beat FOGO. With that said, the FOGO definitely burns longer than the RO. Sometimes I wonder if the FOGO is actually a better deal than RO because of how many times I can snuff out the fire and reuse the pieces. At the moment, in my garage, the only lump I have on hand is FOGO

My go-to preference Attjack is FOGO. I have ordered it on Amazon and my only issue is excessive packaging (cardboard) but that is what you get ordering charcoal. I also met Jealous Devil charcoal at a trade show and they sent me a bag. I just recently finished it and realized how much I like it. The difference IMHO about mail order -vs- retail is time and time again charcoal purchased at retail has the broken and smaller pieces with a significant amount of dust making at times 30% of the bag useless. We had a discount code for Jealous Devil this summer but so few people took advantage of it, I did not think it was relevant to ask them for another.
