I just ordered a new bag of charcoal from a Brittish brand called Oxford Charcoal Company. I thought I'd give their bag "sweet chestnut" a try.
Does anyone in the pit have experience with this brand before?

Interesting. Let us know what the pieces look like. I feel like every brand looks different. I just looked at their website, they have a ton of flavors.
I will try and let you all know. The whole point is to get the flavor of whatever type of tree was used as a source, as charcoal isn't fully carbonised in the process. I'm a big fan of the BGE charcoal for this specific reason, it adds great flavor. But I need to widen my horizon, so I thought I'd give this a try. I was real keen on the cherry wood charcoal too, as I'm a big fan of cherry wood for smoking, but haven't tried chestnut at all, so that became my pick.
